One restaurant that I have been super excited to try yet haven't had the chance is Adam D'Sylva's Tonka. I finally headed down the alleyway last Friday for lunch to experience it for myself.
I was impressed as soon as I walked in, the bar is at the front, a massive open kitchen.
I thought I would take a trip down memory lane to one my favourite restaurants growing up. Our family would always have special b'days at Le Gaulois, a french restaurant in Glen Waverley. We used to get so excited when we had booked dinner as we loved the hearty food and the lovely service.
Lucy Liu the name on everyone's lips, the latest and hottest Asian infusion restaurant from Chef Michael Lambie (The Smith) that has opened now for about 2 months. They have ripped out the old PM24 (sadly one of my old favourites) and totally revamped it with a back entry through Oliver's Lane.
Spout Cafe is a popular bustling cafe in the heart of Elsternwick right near the train line. I caught up with a friend for a Sunday lunch on a sunny winter's afternoon and I wasn't surprised that the outside tables were filled. It didn't take too long to score a table inside.
Stokehouse is an iconic restaurant in Melbourne and ever since it sadly burned down in St Kilda, it has done well to hang to it's reputation by moving into Comme in the city. This has always been a beautiful space and it's only fitting to have such a famous restaurant housed in it.2
In this chilly weather, there is one thing that I have been craving a lot - a bowl of laksa. Growing up I was spoilt with my mum's laksa but back then I used to dilute my spicy soup with more chicken soup because I wasn't good with chilli.
Pizza the universal favourite dish of so many, what if I told you that you can create your own pizzas and have it assembled and cooked before your eyes in 5 minutes? Welcome to Melt Pizza that has only been open for 2 months at the trendy end of Chapel St in Windsor.
Kong has arrived!!!! Just like all the other locals around the area, I have been anticipating the opening for a very long time. I made sure I was early as it's only been less than 2 weeks since it opened it's Old Pearl Cafe doors to all the hungry foodies out there.
Winter is upon us in Melbourne and there's nothing better than having a long Friday lunch at a cosy Italian Cafe. Thirty Eight Chairs in South Yarra, the old Bond St Wine Bar is now transformed into the cutest cafe with literally 38 chairs.
